Light
Every flat has a single 40 cm floor-to-ceiling slit facing west; the evening sun moves across the living room floor like a blade.
A single dark line on the skyline: a 32-storey anthracite concrete residential tower opened by deep vertical slits.
Monolith Tower stands deliberately dark among the glass towers of Maslak. Its facade is made of anthracite concrete fins rising uninterrupted for 32 floors; the windows sit in deep slits between them.
Slit windows
Instead of wide glazing we chose narrow, deep openings. Flats do not overheat, privacy is kept and light enters in a controlled, linear way.
Interiors
Dark polished concrete floors, oak joinery and slim black frames; the only decoration is a line of light that moves through the day.
