Monolith Tower completed: a dark signature on the skyline

Why we chose dark concrete among glass towers, how narrow windows improved living quality and how we turned 32 floors into a single line.

An anthracite concrete tower with deep vertical slits at dusk

In Maslak every tower is glass reflecting the next. In Monolith Tower we tried the opposite: a dark surface that takes light in rather than reflecting it.

Narrow windows, generous living

The 40 cm floor-height slits give less heat gain and more privacy than wide glazing. In the first summer, residents’ air conditioning use was 30 percent lower than in similar towers.

A single line

The concrete fins rise uninterrupted from ground to roof. From afar the tower is a single dark line on the skyline.
